Happy Zeitgeist Day

I saw the movie Zeitgeist, a few years ago, but I watched a portion of part one yesterday on the origin of religion, and had to watch the rest. It was time well-spent. The word reflects the defining spirit, characteristic, or mood of the time, period, or generation.

Ours would appear to be in an unprecedented state of flux.

There are three Zeitgeist films and a video series, Culture In Decline, from the same director, Peter Joseph. I’m linking them here for your convenience. They could, and perhaps should be watched more than once, although not obsessively.

The Original Zeitgeist

The Sequel: Zeitgeist 2 – The Addendum

Trifecta: Zeitgeist 3 – Moving Forward

If put on a comparative value scale, this was far more valuable than the 10 hours of NBA basketball that was offered. I like a good game as much as the next person, but the time spent “hooked” on sports, soap operas, “celebrities” and other diversions, means time not spent learning about, and getting to know, understand, and love one’s Self.

We’ll never know what we have been missing, until we know who we are. That journey only starts in earnest, when we’re ready and willing to unlearn, assess, and then re-validate all that we thought was “true,” in conjunction with new truths that will be uncovered and confirmed.

In addition to his films, Joseph is an author, musician, and While I am not inclined to join a “movement” by any name, other than that of the bowel, and more important, consciousness which are both inner ones, I am most impressed with both the content, and intent of his presentation.

Preparing to hit the road for a short trip to Los Angeles, I wrote Mr. Joseph to see if he’d be available to meet while I’m there. I will be spending time with family, but if the time is right for direct contact, then it’ll happen.

Irrespective of what you call this time of year, may it be a joyful and Holy one!

Stay tuned…

So the prospect of eliminating my baguette when having my cheese or not
having my Sunday treats was a little daunting.
