2008 Raw Spirit Festival Reflections

The 2008 Raw Spirit Festival held in September for the last time in Sedona, yielded some great interview and learning opportunities. I’m not vegan, much less raw (or are the two synonymous?), but I appreciate where they’re coming from, and where they’re trying to get the rest of us omnivore “luddites” to go.

While I don’t feel that diet alone determines one’s health or susceptibility to disease, the more natural (meaning less processed) our food intake, the better. Unfortunately, unless we grow foods ourselves, it’s hard to rely on any food being unprocessed, even if it’s labeled “Organic”. As Carol Koepler told me in a recent interview many organic foods are irradiated, which alters the vibrational frequencies, the subtle energy carrier waves that form the foundation of cellular communication. With said frequencies altered, organic foods (as well as genetically modified foods) will not communicate the proper signals, nor yield the intended results.

When we think we can outdo Mother Nature, especially for exploitive profit, we cut ourselves off from Her magic… the magic that allows skin to mend itself, bones to reconnect, and degenerative organs to function again. We’re familiar with some of Mother Nature’s magic, but have been conditioned to be blind to, and question, and even doubt, much more that is likewise possible.

Nonetheless, I had a great time, and the presentations were no less than fabulous. I’ve produced three Talk For Food shows from that one event thus far, with several show’s more worth yet to go.
